Doug Ratelle

Director
Dr. Doug Ratelle serves as the Family Services Director at Monarch School. He leads a team of clinicians and support staff to provide therapeutic support for Monarch School students and their families.
Dr. Ratelle received his Ph.D. from Brigham Young University in Counseling Psychology. He began working as a therapist in 1988 at a Youth Crisis Center in Utah. From there, he worked with adolescents and their families in several settings (e.g. outpatient clinics and programs, residential treatment, therapeutic boarding schools and the juvenile justice system.) Dr. Ratelle has extensive therapeutic experience working with adolescents struggling with oppositional defiance, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma/abuse, grief and loss, and identity issues.
Dr. Ratelle has been married to Suzie for 25 years, and together they have four sons spanning in age from 9 to 23 years old, and a daughter, age 20. Family time is very important to him, and he makes sure they have opportunities to spend quality time together.
