Jane earned her B.S.S.W. in 1983 and has been working as a Counselor in the Mental Health field ever since. Her goal is to create work that facilitates her values for simplicity and creativity. This has led her to working in experiential therapy and education in 1992. It was in experiential therapy that she found a way of working with children and families that also fit her personal way of contributing to the world. Jane returned to graduate school at the age of 40, and earned her M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Expressive Arts Therapy. Expressive Arts Therapy includes the use of any of the arts modalities - visual arts, poetry, dance, music, and drama in conjunction with verbal therapy to assist one's process of identifying issues, solving problems, and expressing feelings.

Jane has worked with the Center for Excellence since May, 2003 earning both her Clinical Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapy licenses under the supervision of Dr. Doug Ratelle. Her position includes offering individual and family counseling for adolescents in crisis, while expanding her services to include adult and couples counseling. Jane also supervises and trains counselor interns on the treatment team.

Jane is a wife, stepmother of 4 young adult children, and a grandmother of two and counting. Originally from the Midwest, Jane's life journey is "to thrive in authenticity." Her desire for simplicity and authenticy brought her to live in the mountains of Northern Idaho in 1990. Her interests include spirituality and natural healing, art, and home remodeling. She loves the outdoors and spends as much time as possible hiking, cross country skiing, sailing and kayaking with her husband.
